HANGAR BILBAO
2007. Final degree thesis
Hangar Bilbao was the final degree thesis for my Industrial Engineering degree and it was an intent to blend architecture and engineering inspired by the great Hangar 7 in Salzburg.
This project developed the idea of a special hangar made out of steel and glass, to be operated as a private aviation terminal. The core of the project was the design and analysis of the steel structure based on tubular profiles and the use of parabolic catenary arches to create a building, 60x60 meters in its base, that would stand only in 4 structural knots.
The project received a special prize as the best degree thesis from the University of Malaga in 2008.
